One of the important safeguards of hunting is the hunting regulations. Hunting regulations are necessary for both the safety of the hunter, as well as the conservation of wildlife. In an effort to promote conservation of these species, there are very careful rules set for hunting them. An unfortunate side effect of the conservation efforts is that it isn't always easy to get permits; sometimes hunting regulations do not allow it. Depending on what they choose to hunt, this is not a problem for the avid hunter however. Certain species are not part of the conservation effort, so most hunting regulations allow for more permits on hunting these animals.
It is extremely important for hunters to know the hunting regulations of the state or province in which they are hunting. The Canadian Ministry of Natural Resources is the most up to date site to check on what animals are protected by conservation laws and what permits are required by hunting regulations. Penalties for violating conservation rules or hunting regulations are hefty fines or loss of hunting privileges. It might seem like extra hassle, but conservation laws are in effect to promote the biodiversity of species. These laws are part of hunting regulations, which are all a part of the country's wildlife management programs. Most hunters strongly support the conservation laws, and know that in order to have a safe hunt, it is best to follow the hunting regulations of the area in which they are hunting.
